The Dispensations as seen in Isaiah 9:6,7
 
Christ, the second Adam...
 
Isaiah 9:6-7Corresponding Dispensation / Test
For unto us a child is born,
   (a begotten one is begotten)
Innocence - 1John 3:5; Heb 4:15
unto us a son is given:Conscience - John 5:30; 8:29
and the government
   shall be upon his shoulder:
Government - Mat 28:18; Eph 1:20-23
and his name shall be called:
   Wonderful,
       (ie., beyond understanding, Psa 139:5,6)
       He is the doer of "marvelous things"
       which only God can fulfill.
       (see Ex 15:11; Psa 77:11-14;
       Isa 25:1; 29:14; Dan 12:6,7)
 
Promise - 2Cor 1:20
 
 
   Counsellor,
       (One charged with the administration
        of God's Law. eg. Mark 15:43)
Law - Isa 41:28- 42:4; Rom 8:2-4
   The mighty God, In Christ, God defeated Satan, Sin & Death.
       Isa 45:21-24; 2Cor 5:18,19
Note the order:
  The Cross comes between Law & Grace.
   The everlasting Father,Grace - John 14:1-9; Heb 1:1-3
   The Prince of Peace.Kingdom (see v.7, below)
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end,
upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom,
to order it, and to establish it
with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
